The Secret is in the Sauce
With every crawfish season comes the dip! Without a good dip, you would be missing the total crawfish experience. I know I like to dip my crawfish as well as potatoes in that awesome dip! If you don’t have time to make one, I have found Dat-Dip, a Louisiana Dipping Sauce in the supermarkets made by, Dat Cajun Boy’s Company out of Lafayette Louisiana that is pretty good. But if you’re like me, you prefer a good homemade dipping sauce and I’ve perfected my idea of the perfect one for you guys! Here is what I enjoy along with every one of my crawfish boils as well as my drive thru pick up nights!
1 1/2 cups Blue Plate mayonnaise
1/2 cup Heinz ketchup
2 tablespoons French’s original yellow mustard
2 tablespoons Tiger sauce
2 teaspoons Benoit’s Cajun Seasoning (no salt)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 course ground pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
All suggested brands are optional but I feel like these brands make the recipe much better tasting in the end. Also if you can’t find the Benoit’s salt free seasoning you can use another Cajun seasoning, if it’s not salt free just opt to not add any salt to your dip. I find that in most cases crawfish seasoning seasonings are loaded with salt and I surly don’t want much salt in my seasoning, (to much salt can ruin anything).
